Change of Rooms for April 15 and 22

Our Sunday services will change from our usual rooms at the Classic Center to different ones on April 15 and 22.

Correction: On April 15, the service will be in Grand Halls 7 (down the escalator).

On April 22, the service will be in the Grand Atrium (down the escalator). There will be no children's Sunday school this Sunday.

Update: The service on April 22 will be back in our regular space-- the Parthenon Rooms.

We anticipate being back in our usual rooms thereafter.

Updated Inclement Weather Policy

Our preference is to wait as long as possible to see what the actual situation is rather than rely upon news station reports that might present the worst-case scenario.

We will decide whether to cancel our Sunday morning services by 8:30 a.m. on that morning.

Cancellation notifications will be posted on our website.

Since many who attend TCC come from a long distance, please use your discretion about your own local conditions as to whether it is best for you to come or not. We realize that just because conditions are fine in Athens, they may not be safe where you are.

We're Growing!

Our church is growing and we've been at near-maximum seating capacity recently. So we're moving to a new room to accommodate our size beginning this Sunday!

This week, we'll be in Rooms Y/Z of the UGA Hotel and Conference Center. Plan a few extra minutes this week to get to our new space.

Prior to the service, TCC hosts wearing badges (see below) will be in the lobby to help you find your way.

Inclement Weather Policy

Our preference is to wait as long as possible to see what the actual situation is rather than rely upon the first reports of news stations that might present the worst-case scenario in order that everyone will be prepared.

We plan on making the decision on whether to cancel our Sunday morning service by 9:00 a.m.

Cancellation notifications will be sent by email as well as posted on our website and Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Since many who attend TCC come from a long distance, please use your discretion about your own local conditions as to whether it is best for you to come or not. We realize that just because conditions are fine at TCC, they may not be safe where you are.

Beginning March 1st, TCC's new home on Sundays

As we've searched for a long-term home for Treasuring Christ Church's Sunday morning services, we've always prayed that we would find a place as close to UGA's campus as possible, since we want to have a significant influence and presence there over time.

Recently, the Lord answered our prayers. . . and you can't get closer to campus than on campus!

We are excited to announce that, beginning March 1st, Treasuring Christ Church's new home on Sunday mornings will be the UGA Hotel and Conference Center. The UGA Hotel is across from Stegeman Coliseum. Plenty of free parking is available adjacent to the hotel in Lot S10.

Mark Your Calendar for August 17th

We are looking forward to what Jesus has in store for TCC and Athens this fall. On August 17th, we'll be starting a weekly, Sunday evening Bible study as we build toward regular church services.

Mark your calendar now for Sunday, August 17th at 6:00 p.m. and be thinking about who you can bring with you. More details will come as we get closer.

In the meantime, sign up to receive emails from TCC so that you don't miss out on updates.

Three Ways to Join Us

We seek to plant a God-centered, Christ-exalting, Bible and prayer saturated church the spreads a passion for the fame of Christ's name in Athens and around the world.

If you share this vision, would you consider joining us in at least one of three ways?

1. Join Us in Prayer

The most encouraging thing we hear from supporters is that they pray for us regularly. We dare not plant a church prayerlessly. We want to make prayer the visible engine that drives our mission. Would you commit to praying for us on some regular schedule?

To help you, I'd like to send you a prayer card in the mail that you can post somewhere in your home or leave in your Bible. Simply contact us and include your address and the number of cards you'd like.

2. Join Us in Giving

The Apostle Paul was a church planter. He wrote, "[M]y God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4:19). Paul had seen God supply his needs along his missionary journeys and we believe this promise will be true for us as well.

Planting a church is costly. Yet  it is the most effective way to reach the lost for Christ.

Would you consider either a one-time gift or a recurring gift to help meet our needs?

3. Join Us in Planting

Whether you live in Athens or live far away, perhaps God would be leading you to join us in planting and attending Treasuring Christ Church.

If you are part of a church in or near Athens already, review the counsel from John MacArthur and John Piper first. If you have a missions mindset and could leave your current church on good terms, get in touch with us and attend one of the upcoming fellowship gatherings.

If you live outside the Athens area and would want to move to join us, we'd love to talk with you about when the best time to join would be.

Whatever way(s) God would have you join us, we will be grateful as we labor to exalt Christ in Athens together.

Fellowship Gatherings Announced

As we begin planting TCC, we want to provide opportunities for those interested in the church to get to know Pastor Boyd and his family, to learn about the church, and to begin forming friendships with others.

To that end, we invite you to a fellowship gathering at Boyd and Ingrid Johnson's home on Sunday, April 27th at 5:30 p.m. We will share a potluck meal together and hear from Pastor Boyd. Children are welcome. Future fellowship gatherings will be every other week and are listed on our calendar page.

RSVP to the next gathering by clicking the button below. Directions are provided on the RSVP page.

We look forward to seeing you!
