Join us for worship this sunday!
Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
Location: Downtown Athens at The Classic Center located at 300 N. Thomas St.
We meet in the Parthenon rooms.
Parking: Free parking is available until 1:00 p.m. in The Classic Center parking lot. The entrance is located off Thomas St and through the gates (you enter on the top floor). You'll need to take a ticket as you enter the gate and use that ticket to exit.
Alternatively, many people prefer the all-day free parking available in the courthouse parking deck located directly across from The Classic Center on the corner of Hancock St. and Thomas St. (enter on Hancock).
What to Expect
Our worship service starts at 10:30 a.m. and ends by noon.
Services feature expository preaching, praying, the reading of God's Word, and both hymns and contemporary worship songs.
People in every age group join us for worship each Sunday. We're known as a friendly church, so you'll likely be greeted by a number of people before and after the service.
Most people dress in nicer casual clothing and vary it depending on the weather. Mainly, people just aim for something that's comfortable.
A prayer time is also available from 9:50 a.m. to 10:10 a.m.
BEFORE THE SERVICE
We offer Children's Sunday School before the service at 9:45 a.m.
Sunday school includes a half-hour lesson and worship time for kids age preschool and up. One of our Hosts can direct you to the children's room where we'll get your child checked-in.
Sunday school ends at 10:15 a.m. so that you have time to pick up your child and prepare for the worship service.
During the Service
Currently, we don't offer a staffed nursery. Children remain in the service with their parents. To assist parents of little ones, we offer a restless child room adjacent to our worship area that parents may use as needed.
Wondering how to train your child to sit through a service? We've found this article by John and Noel Piper to be helpful with step-by-step instructions.
