LEADERSHIP

Boyd Johnson

Pastor-Teacher and Elder

The Lord saved Boyd during his freshman year at the University of Missouri. He graduated with a degree in political science and remained at the university to help plant a church and pursue a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate. During these years, Boyd began having a desire to be used by God in ministry.

While helping to plant that church, Boyd met Ingrid. After they married, they moved to Minneapolis in order to become members of Bethlehem Baptist Church, led by John Piper. Boyd worked as an estate planning attorney and Ingrid worked as a nurse. At Bethlehem, Boyd led a shepherding group, served in the high school ministry, and founded and taught the church's singles ministry.

The desire to pursue vocational ministry continued and, after receiving affirmation from others, they moved to Los Angeles so that Boyd could attend The Master's Seminary and attend Grace Community Church, led by John MacArthur. He graduated with honors and received a Master of Divinity and completed the Grace Advance Academy the same year.

Boyd, Ingrid, and their two children moved to Athens in March of 2014 to plant Treasuring Christ Church.
